Our Honeymoon

This is one of the only pictures of the two of us, taken on our honeymoon. I guess you aren't supposed to be around other people who could be possible photographer's, though, are you? We went to Northern Oregon, across the Columbia River gorge, to the coast, then south to the California Redwoods, then home via Napa Valley. We camped all along the way, except for two nights on the Oregon coast somewhere, we stayed in a condo. It was such a relaxing time. I have misplaced a lot of the photos, on a different computer, but here are a few I do have.

This one seems appropriate! This was taken from the inside of a two story play house, carved out of a giant redwood.

We have all seen the pictures, and heard the stories, but until you are standing amongst them, you have no clue as to how magnificent they really are. The redwoods are a magical place to visit.

We stayed at a campground on the beach, in the Redwoods. We enjoyed a beautiful hike through the trees...watching for bears, the bear lockers at the campground had me frightened. Let alone the ranger telling us that "if you leave your cooler in your car, be sure to cover it up with a blanket...the bears around here will break your window to get to your cooler, if they can see it." But sleeping in a tent is a good idea? Hmmm....

It was also Elk mating season, and on all the radio stations and signs, there were warnings to "not approach the Elk". But these guys were hanging out right next to the bathrooms. I guess it was good that they seemed to know the difference between being approached, and someone who just needs "to go".

When I get my hands on the other photo's from our honeymoon, I will post them!

The Beginning

The beginning of us, as a family. May 21, 2005. What a wonderful day. We were engaged just a few months after beginning to date. It was right, and we both knew it. It is still right. I had never been so sure of anything in all my life. This was going to be the beginning of a very great life together. I am so lucky to have Brandon and Tanner get along so well. They are inseparable when we are all together, Tanner often hanging on Brandon, or teasing and wrestling him, even kisses, lots of them, and hugs. And there isn't an hour that goes by that Tanner doesn't offer an, "I love you." It's a perfect fit.

We got married at our house in Samak, UT. We live in the mountains, in a wonderful cabin. The day was perfect, and hot, and there were so many people we loved...here to share it with us. I wouldn't have changed a thing....well....except my hair-do, I didn't like it at all. But it did allow for a nice sunburn on my shoulders...the cup being half full. I was walked down the dandilion aisle by my dad and my son.

Brandon's dad gave the most amazing toast ever. Someone took video footage of it, and when I get that footage someday, I plan on posting a transcript. It was incredible. I have the most amazing father in law ever. I am truly blessed to be a Bailey, and proud to sport the name!
